References for Threatened Animals or Plants

If your subject is on a government or internationally recognised
institutions list published in the last five years indicating its
threatened, rare, endangered or vulnerable status you may wish to enter the photo in
Section 6) Threatened Animals or Plants

Simply provide a hard copy with your entry that includes subjects name and status and reference to publication's
source. Information below should provide assistance.

The best search tool is possibly the IUCN List of threatened Species. Basic search:

In 'Text Search' box you can enter either animalia or plantae to cover all animals or plants, then scroll down to restrict search by selecting a 'Red List Category' and a 'Red List Country' or 'Region of the World', scroll down to click on 'Search' & results should appear.

Alternatively the 'Expert search' for IUCN can be accessed from: http://www.redlist.org/
